El Gallo Bio

Bryan 'El Gallo' Duran proudly sports the nickname given to him by a childhood friend when he was young. Known for his various hairstyles, "El Gallo" was rocking a mohawk back then, thus resembling a rooster and the rest is history. Despite losing the mohawk before throwing down in the BKFC, Duran embodies the cocky, territorial birds whenever he enters the Squared Circle. In his first five fights, he has finished all of his opponents before the start of the fourth round and at lower weight classes such as his featherweight division, this is not something to be taking lightly.

The southpaw swings with nasty intentions, throwing every single punch at 100% and with a great mix of head and body work. Despite having what looks like a brawling style, "El Gallo" will take a moment at the beginning of each round to read his adversary, but only a moment. After his reads are made, there's nearly a 100% chance that Duran overwhelms whoever he's targeting, and his hand is raised at the end of the bout.

Being born in Cuba, Duran grew up tough and idolized baseball players like Tony Pérez and José Canseco, but his father encouraged him to get into Karate. He reluctantly followed his father's advice, and his life is forever better because of that. Moving from a different culture into the United States, he was bullied for having a bowl cut and wearing short shorts so fighting was ingrained into him even before he could speak English.
